Meet                       Elaine

The simple details are sometimes the most special memories. My favorite memories are the ones made while spending time with my siblings & parents, whether that was traveling to the beach or having a "sleep out" in our living room. What might seem little to some can mean everything to someone else.

This is the same approach I bring to photography: noticing those little details and preserving them in a snapshot for you to keep forever. The quiet smiles during bride and groom portraits. Bridesmaids fawning over their bestie's full bridal look. A mom and dad holding hands while they watch their daughter exchange vows with her soon-to-be husband. Little boys who just want to hold a stick during their photos and little girls that want to wear their Rapunzel dress instead of the clothes that mom picked out.

These are once in a lifetime moments for you — and often, things that no one really sees or notices. Being able to freeze those moments in time is such a special privilege and responsibility. Capturing the moments exactly how they happen is what I'm here to do. When you look back on those, you don’t see curated — you see your real life.

"all this nothing has meant more to me than so many somethings." - Kathleen Kelly

My story is unique, just as yours is. After high school, I studied Horticulture and romanticized the notion of running a flower shop. I love to say that I dreamt of being the Kathleen Kelly of flower shops (if you know, you know). If I was honest though, the reality of running a flower shop didn’t really appeal to me. I’ve always wanted to be a stay a home mom — and running a shop didn’t fit my vision of raising kids in the future.

After countless aptitude tests, discouraging career counseling sessions, and some soul-searching, I came upon the thing that would change everything  — an online photography class that my sister saw in an Instagram ad. I attended a free one hour lesson and was sold. It was love at first sight. I bought the course, borrowed a camera, and dropped out of college to chase this new dream: a career that allowed me to be creative and artistic, while also being able to have flexibility for my future family.

Now, I’m a first-time mom, with a passion for creating beauty and preserving the big and little moments in our lives. I love to capture Weddings, but I also have a huge place in my heart for Lifestyle, Family and Maternity/Newborn sessions.

At the end of the day, I'm here to capture your memories and preserve how it felt in that moment, so your love can be palpably felt for generations to come.

Before the Camera

I love looking at photos of my parents as kids, in college, or as young parents. I love old family photos from trips, birthday parties and random summer days. I’m here because I love creating beautiful photos... but also because I love preserving a visual history of who we are.

I have a memory where, at one of my family Christmas parties, we played games where we learned fun facts about ancestors, then took turns matching their pictures and names. The great-grandchildren were all given a framed copy of their great great grandparents. My four year-old niece loved the photo she was given. She brought it out to breakfast every morning, she took it to bed at night, she brought it with her to church. But she didn’t just carry it around — she knew their names and who they are to her. That photo brought to life someone who had passed long before she was born, before even her mother was born. And it resonated with her little heart in ways she couldn't even articulate.

That is the life I see my work living. Do I hope you print out your photos and hang them in your home? Yes, absolutely! But I also hope that your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will see them, remember your family, and feel a deep soul-connection to their family members that they knew — and even the ones they never met.

It's more than just a photo to me.
